ANNE BROWN PETERSEN
I’m Anne. I act…
…mostly on stages and in front of cameras!
For me, the best part of this whole gig is the exact second after someone shouts "action,” when the crew goes quiet, the nerves disappear, and the story takes over. I gravitate toward character-driven work that isn't afraid to get a little messy, but always finds the humor in the chaos. Basically, if a script has a lot of heart and is a little (or a lotta) bit weird, I want in!
This is where I share a bit of my world…take a look around, and let’s make something cool!
Film
Anne on set during one of her very first short films, The Engagement, 2018
Anne is a Shreveport-based actor with over a decade of experience on camera. While her roots began on stage, she fell in love with film while earning her BA, finding herself deeply drawn to the quiet subtlety and precision that acting in front of a lens demands. Over the last ten years, she has focused her time on independent film and commercial storytelling, always looking for complex scripts that lean into small, lived-in moments. As a screen performer, Anne focuses on creating grounded, realistic characters, the kind that balance messy human stakes with unexpected wit. For Anne, the joy of film acting lies in the micro-moments between characters, bringing a calm presence, a sharp focus, and a genuine love for the nuances of performance to every role she takes on
Theatre
Anne on stage as Natalie Talmage in Stoneface: The rise and fall and rise of Buster Keaton, 2022
Anne’s relationship with the theater spans over two decades, beginning at age six when she stepped into both her first dance class and theater workshop. Her love was cemented when she took on the role of Stuart Little at nine. She went on to formalize that passion with a BA in Theatre, building a deep foundation in character, movement, and storytelling. While her on-camera career keeps her busy, Anne continuously returns to the stage whenever possible, driven by a love for the rehearsal process and the raw, unpredictable energy that only exists in a live space.
Production
Anne on set, working as a sound mixer for The Twin, 2022
For Anne, the magic of storytelling doesn't stop when she steps off camera or out of the spotlight. Drawn to the collaborative energy of a working set and stage, she has built a versatile production background that includes directing, sound, and hands-on crew work. Passionate about mentorship, she also works as an educator at Stage Center’s School of Performing Arts and Paralleled Studios, teaching acting and dance to the next generation of talent. She approaches every production role with the same adaptability, care, and respect for the craft that she brings to her acting.
